Kenyatta University awards a contract to mElimu to supply smartphone tablets and platform for its Digital School. KU in an attempt to make quality education available to the growing demand has taken a step to embrace technology for the cause. The Digital School aims at providing higher education courses, diploma, undergraduate and post-graduate courses to those who cannot take up regular full-time courses. The e-learning platform is capable of delivering quality education to aspirants in a nontraditional way.
mElimu platform and services help universities and colleges reach out to more and more students through a distance e-learning course. The platform allows students to do most of the activities involved in the course without the requirement of an internet connection, such as taking quizzes, submitting assignments, interacting with teachers, checking course progress and much more.
Damnish Kumar, CTO, mElimu said “It is an honor to be able to partner with one of the esteemed educational institutions in Kenya. We look forward to be able to deliver this platform to many more students and universities”. He also stated that the platform will help make courses accessible and affordable; for the fees for these courses will be less when compared to the full-time regular courses.
mElimu is moving towards its endeavor of providing its platform and services to many more universities to improve the quality of delivering education.
